Dave, I know this may sound weird, but I consider you one of my BEST friend! You're a GREAT guy & next to God, you are the person I would wanna be just like! Thank you very much for giving great advice and awesome lessons! I haven't missed a single Spark since I have been in High School, because it's that motivating! My Christian walk is stronger thanks to the Spark. And I love the free candy...JUST KIDDING!!! See you Sunday! (e-07.19.2004 4:25p) I appreciate that very much. It's a great thing to be used by GOD.
Hi! This is my favorite verse!!! PSALM 115:1 Not unto, O Lord, not unto us. But to your name give glory, because of your mercy, because of truth (e-07.19.2004 4:05p) Great verse (NKJV).
Hey Dave, I've noticed the web site hasn't been up dated in a while, so me asking this question might just be stupid but I'll ask anyway. I been a Christian for a long time and I wanted to know if it is normal to be afraid to die. I mean I know I'm saved and I know when I die I'll go to heaven, but it kind of scares me to think of what it will be like to not get up everyday and do everyday stuff. If you get the chance to answer it would help since I've been thinking on it for a while. Dave you are a really cool guy and I hope God shows you what you are hear for. I love ya ;) (e-07.12.2004 4:37p) The website has not been touched for months. God is leading me into a different direction in ministry. Hopefully at the end of the Summer 04' I'll know better where that will be. Of course it's normal to be afraid to die. We do not know what tomorrow may bring. I've tried to focus more on how I live then worry about how or when I may die. Like you, I'm ready to be called home, I'm saved, I even have my life insurance policy for my family. I refuse to let fear of death overwhelm me and ruin the short life I have been given to live. I ask God regularly to make the following verse a reality in my heart. Job 13:15a KJV "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:... " I'd also encourage you to learn more about the real place called heaven. Heaven is not hanging out on clouds, harping it with the angels. God has stuff for us we cannot even imagine. Heaven is not the end but the beginning. Heaven is and will be an exciting place. We should focus on our job here and celebrate when we're told our work is done. I identify and share your feelings. I just want to encourage you to try to rearrange your outlook through the truth of God's Word.
Sorry my computer froze on the last entry ... oh yeah back to Freemasonary. Some in the church are ok with it and some pastors discourage it greatly. This could also be a "grey" area in which some christians beleive that this is a subject that is between you and God and you relationship with him. I dislike to use this example but it's the only one I can think of right now, do you think this kinda goes along the line of christians and alcohal, does this just come down to the personal convictions of each person and that persons feeling of this being in his will. I would appreciate a answer online because my schedule at work prohibits morning church as it has for the past 5 months thank you so much and God Bless. (e-07.09.2004 1:57p) Unfortunately I know nothing about that group so I would be unequipped to comment on them. I do not believe there are grey areas. God is clear we are not to drink in excess or get drunk (Ephesians 5:18). When in doubt about something ask does it glorify God? (1 Corinthians 10:31) Our only duties as Christians are to love God and love people. Nothing grey in my mind about that.
Dave, This subject might not be one that many high school students understand but what do you think about the practice of Freemasonry and its involvement in the chuch as well. This is a touchy subject as some of our (church) members are openly members of The Masonic Lodge. This question is not one to ignite controversy but is a question to resolve some issues that some members of the pastoral community openly discourge the membership of Freemaso (e-07.09.2004 1:52p) Answered above.
