02.01.2002 - Dear Sponsors, At Eatser, we celebrate hope, joy, and the promis eof new life in Jesus Christ! THis is a wonderful time of the year to express your love for your sponsored child, Ruma Rani Shaha. That's why I've neclosed a beautiful Eatser card for you to send to her. Ruma Rani will enjoy this card, with a lovely illustartion of an adorable lamb. It will truly be a treasure, because it comes from you! Easter is an oppurtunity to share the message of eternal hope with children everywhere. However, in Bangladesh, where your sponsored child lives, our workers must carefully honor restrictions regarding Christian teaching. That's why we;ve taken the utmost care in writing the message for this Easter card. Will you pray with us that this card will touch your sponsored chld's heart in a special way? Even though it is simple and brief, I believe God can use the message inside, along with your loving greeting, to impress upon Ruma Rani that His love is everlasting! Please take a moment now to peel off the sticker and place it on the back of your sponsored child's card. Then sign your name inside and return it to World Vision in the envelope provided so that we can deliver it for you. And as you send this acrd today, will you also consider enclosing an extra gift to help other hurting children this Easter---boys and girls who are in desperate need? There are still thousands of children who live in communities where sponsorship is not available. Others are enduring crises that can not be addressed thropugh sponsorship funds alone. Still more children whose sponsors can no longer afford to make a monthly commitment. Now more than ever, World Vision must answer God's ca;; to be a vessel of help and hope to all of the children He entrusts to us. To do that, we rely upon you---our generous, caring friends. To help us be equipped and prepared to meet every need that arises, we've established the Childcare Ministries Fund. Will you send an Easter gift o support this crucial fund? When you return your sponsored child's signed Easter card, simply enclose a donation of $25, $50---or any amount you can send. You'll help us be ready to respond swiftly and efficently whenever children and families need or help. I want to thank you in adavnce for signing and returning your Eatser card---and for any gift you can send to the Childcare Ministries Fund. Your generosity and faithful friendship are truly instruments of God's love in your sponsored child's life. During this holy season,a nd always, may Jesus--the lamb of God--be near to you. We thank God that during this critical moment in history, we can count on loving, faithful sponsors like all of you. You all are a beacon of light that is bringing hope, not only into Ruma Rani Shaha, but into a world that is darkened by fear and uncertainty. In these past few weeks, we've seen stories of many heroes in our counrty. Stories that have inspired and moved us to tears. Sponsors, I want you all to know that you all are heros. You all stepped forward in a time of crisis in your sponsored child's life, reached out, and helped her. You've made a difference that will last forever. In Ruma's eyes, you all are true heros! Because of the seeds you all have sown in her life, she can become an ambassador of hope in her own community, and even perhaps in her own country. As a reminder of how important you all are in your sponsored child's life, I've attached a prayer card that can be a simple yet meaninful part of your Thanksgiving celebration. You can detach it, assemble it, and display it on a tabletop in your home. As you celebrate with your family and loved ones, you can include Ruma and her family in your Thanksgiving prayers. We may never see the world in the same way again. But we know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It is with this confidence in His eternal hope that we press forward to meet the needs of children in 100 countries. Now more than ever, your support is vital to continue meeting these urgent needs. Thank you all for your support. May you and your loved ones have a blessed Thanksgiving. God Bless you, Richard E. Stearns President You will all receive a photo copy of this card on Sunday.
