The Light:source is dedicated to the youth of Tucson. We desire to see Tucson consumed by a fire and passion for Jesus CHRIST. Our goal at the Light:source is to make Acts 13:49 true of the Tucson area; "The word of the Lord spread through the whole region". The Light:source is a unique youth program. We believe that the traditions of man make the Word of God to no effect. (Mark 7:13) The Light:source educates, motivates, encourages, edifies, excites, equips, challenges, and disciples the youth of Tucson. We want to help them achieve their goal of winning lost souls to CHRIST. Our methods and operation are purposeful. Check out our theme verse: (Luke 5:26 KJV) "And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, 'We have seen strange things to day'." This verse records the response to Jesus healing a lame man. To the world; the Gospel is strange, the love of Jesus is strange, and eternal life is strange. 1 Corinthians 1:18 & 27 KJV "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God". "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" After each Light:source event our hope is the glory is given to God and that people will explore and share a relationship with Him. Many people have different ideas on how a church service should be run. So did the early church. Paul wrote to the church in Corinth stating this: 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 KJV "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but the same God which worketh all in all." The Light:source utilizes the unique gifts and callings of all invloved. The Light:source is in it's 7th year and God willing, we will continue until His return. Modern CHRISTian Music provides the opportunity for the positive message of the Gospel to be heard throughout the week. Many people criticize the use of mediums such as rock, rap, etc. in Modern CHRISTian Music. They may believe that this music has some inherent evil. They might be led to believe this because our adversary has used music for his purposes, for a long time. We are not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11). All music is a tool that can be used for good or evil. Today the body of CHRIST is reclaiming all music for the use and edification of the church. God's Word says in Psalm 33:3 KJV "Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise." The Light:source advocates careful selection and analysis of all music that is listened to; CHRISTian or not. If it does not glorify God and bring you closer to Him; why would you buy it or listen to it? If it dishonors God and pushes you away from Him; it's trash. Modern CHRISTian Music has personally ministered to many of us at the Light:source. God has laid it on our hearts to share this great (and to many; undiscovered) tool. This music does not in any way diminish the need for continuous prayer and Bible study but, it keeps the mind focused on the right things. Philippians 4:8 KJV "Finally bretheren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
