About Light:source Youth Ministries <>< The mission of Light:source Youth Ministries is to evangelize the lost and edify the believer in Jesus CHRIST. Light:source Youth Ministries was started, in 1997, from a God given desire to serve High School & College students. Light:source Youth Ministries strongly advocates Modern CHRISTian Music. We began video taping the Sunday morning Light:source program in January of 1999 (formerly known as the TbT Spark). Light:source Youth Ministries expanded to the web in April of 1999. We have participated in World Vision's annual 30 Hour Famine since 1999. We have also sponsored a child through World Vision since 2001. Light:source Youth Ministries has been defending the authority of the Bible through Creation ministry since 2003. And we'll keep rocking it (God willing) until we fly or until we die. Light:source Ministries Beliefs <>< - We believe the whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, as the verbally inspired Word of God, authoritative, infallible and inerrant (without error in the original manuscripts). - We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons, the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. - We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross for our sins, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, He is the only great High Priest, and His return to earth bodily and visibly to establish His Kingdom on the earth. - We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of the new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a righteous life. - We believe that because of our sin, we are separated from God. That separation can only be removed by repenting of our sins, confessing the Lord Jesus Christ, and accepting through faith God's gift of salvation. This is what the Bible refers to as being "born again". Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV 8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." - We believe that every truly born again soul should be baptized (immersion in water). Baptism is not essential for Salvation but, baptism is essential for obedience to God, and is symbolic of our identification with Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. It is an "answer of a good conscience toward God." (1 Peter 3:21 KJV) - We believe that the church is a body of baptized believers whose only mission is, not to "reform the world", but to preach and teach the Gospel of Salvation to the individual soul. - We believe that the four-fold platform of the church is: (A) To recognize Christ as its only Head. (B) To proclaim the Holy Spirit as its only Administrator. (C) To proclaim the Word as its only message. (D) To win lost souls as its only mission. - We believe that the "youth" are not the church of tomorrow but, the church of today. (1 Timothy 4:12) *** - We believe that denominations are creations of man and they are not essential in defining us. Heaven will be full of people of different denominations. *** - We believe that the traditions of man make the Word of God to no effect. (Mark 7:13) *** - We believe as CHRISTians, we are engaged in spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:12). 2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." Since we are not ignorant of his devices; we will expose all of his lies and deceptions (John 8:44). We will boldly and without shame, reveal, value, and stand for the Truth. *** -We believe that God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27). God created man and woman, fully formed, on day 6 of Creation week, about 6,000 years ago. The Bible is an accurate eye-witness account of the history of the universe. The Bible is completely authoritative and accurate on all areas it touches on; including but not limited to: history, astronomy, biology, and astronomy. There is no conflict between science and religion. Many founding fathers of major scientific fields were Young Earth Creationists. Operational science confirms the Bible. Evolution and Creation do not have separate piles of scientific facts. Creation and Evolution are worldviews born out of different interpretations of the same scientific evidence. Facts do not speak for themselves. Facts are always interpreted. (anno Domini: in the year of [our] Lord [Jesus Christ]) is a great and authoritative English Translation of the Bible (despite it's 12th grade reading level and use of archaic English). However, the KJV is not the only English Translation that should be used for personal study and public exposition.
