How do I sign-up? 1. Pray. Does God want you to do this? 2. All participants must read and sign a Fundraising Participation Form. A second similar form must be read and signed to be eligible to participate in the 30 Hour Famine event itself. If you are under 12 you can not participate in the fasting portion of this event but, you can still raise money and even be present during the 30 Hour Famine Event. If you are under 18 you must have a parent permission slip signed to participate in the fasting. You can obtain one at the TBT High School Department. A copy is also available on-line here. 3. You can sign-up (starting December 29, 2002) during the TBT Spark or on-line below. What do I do after I sign-up? 1. Pray. 2. Get your 30 Hour Famine materials. If you sign-up on-line you will receive your materials the following Sunday at TBT. These materials include: Your Participant Guide / Pledge Book, your Participant Name Tag, and your Collection Envelope. Wear your tag every Sunday and every where else you go. People will ask you about the tag if you are wearing it. Your Pledge Book must be returned after the Famine if it has been used to write receipts. Do not lose it. 3. Go over your Pledge Book. Learn as much as possible about World Vision and how the money raised will effect the people it is benefiting. Educating yourself about this cause is so important! Be proactive, enthusiastic, and motivated. 4. Set a Personal Fundraising Goal & start raising money. Cash is preferred. Checks (made payable to World Vision or Tucson Baptist Temple) may not be cashed until April 2003. Make a list of family, friends, and co-workers that you think may sponsor you. If you have participated in the 30 Hour Famine one of the previous years, go back to those who sponsored you before. They may sponsor you again. You may also want to send letters and e-mails detailing your fundraising effort. 5. Stay tuned for more information to come. Check this site regularly for updates. 6. Turn in your money when you receive it and report other information every TBT Spark. 7. Make arrangements to be present during the 30 Hour Famine Event. This year will be very exciting.
